Asheville, NC - Virginia Volf, 94, of Asheville, formerly of Sylvania, died on February 25, 2021. She was born in Montgomery County, was a graduate of University of Georgia, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in many different capacities, and later a member of Middle Ground Baptist Church. Virginia was the daughter of the late W.B. and Christian Mathias. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her infant son, Randall, as well as her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Millie and Robert Stubbs of Asheville and Ginger and Walter Monroe of Ellijay, and four grandchildren, Robert Ashley Stubbs and his wife Kelsy, Anna Ruby Stubbs, Kellan Monroe, and Skye Monroe.
Graveside Services: Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Woods officiating. Burial following. Visitation will be at the cemetery after the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO) at the International Mission Board, 3806 Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230 or Four Seasons Hospice of Hendersonville, NC at the Four Seasons Foundation, 211 N. Main St., Hendersonville NC 28792.
