Terrell "Junebug" Brantley Jenkins, Jr.

Sylvania – Terrell “Junebug” Brantley Jenkins Jr., of Sylvania, age 74, passed away on Friday morning, July 5, 2024, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA.

Terrell was born on November 13, 1949, to the late couple Terrell Brantley Jenkins Sr. and Pauline Bazemore Jenkins. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sylvania for over sixty years. After graduating from the University of Georgia, Terrell worked as a farmer, and was a member of The Young Farmers for many years. He loved his pets, Sport and Lady who were strays. Terrell was a big collector of knives, model tractors and cars. He was described as a generous man as he enjoyed giving some of his collections away. Terrell was very jovial and never met a stranger, he always had a joke to share. He was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.

In addition to his parents, Terrell was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Marcus Jenkins, as well as his brother-in-law, Dwight M. Ruhlen.

Survivors include his sister, Colleen Ruhlen of Sylvania; his brother, Carroll E. Jenkins of Statesboro; as well as several nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Sylvania in the Family Life Center. The funeral service will commence at 2:00 p.m., and will be officiated by Dr. Charlie Cooper.

Interment will follow at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Kerry Hodges, Lindy Sheppard Jr., Tommy Sheppard, Jay Brinson, Edward Boddiford, and Lamar Zipperer.

Honorary pallbearers include Louise Ward, Linda Scott, Sharon Zeagler, Dawn and Jim Edenfield, John Mark and Brenda Counts, Vernon and Becky Waters, Craig and Tommie Evans, and Lisa Sheppard.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The First Baptist Church of Sylvania or Ogeechee Area Hospice.
