SUSIE D. WARD

Susie Dixon Ward, age77, of Sylvania, and widow of Ronald “Ronnie” Aubrey Ward, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

She was born on July 7, 1944, in Girard, Georgia, to the late Charles “Fully” Dixon and the late Gennie Alberta Long Dixon. Susie was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted homemaker and loved her family dearly and had many pets that she loved like family.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was also preceded in death by her stepdaughters, Phyllis Ward and Hope Ward; her brothers, Rayford Dixon, Earl Dixon, Dan Dixon and Otis Dixon; and her sisters, Marjorie Scott, Floy Dixon and Reba Moody.

Survivors include her sons, Jeff & Pam Mallard and their daughter, Samantha Mallard, Vic & Jenny Mallard and their children, Caleb and Noah Mallard, Phillip & Monica Mallard and their children, Nic and Jared Mallard all of Girard, GA, and Joe & Laurie Mallard and their children, Ridge, Jaylee and Kodie Mallard of Sylvania, GA; a stepson, Curtis Peterson and his children Christopher, Shelby and Summer Peterson; grandchildren Marla Logan, Ronnie Brannan, and Sophia Fofana; her sister, Mary Hatcher of Sardis, GA; her brother, Ira Dixon of Girard, GA; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Nic Mallard, Ridge Mallard, Caleb Mallard, Noah Mallard, Jared Mallard and Kodie Mallard.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ralph Odom, Glynn Odom, Shelley Dixon, George Dixon, Dennis Dixon and Danuial Dixon.

Please remember that Susie loved flowers and would appreciate all of the beautiful colors in lieu of other donations.
