SHARON KAY BUXTON WILSON

Sharon Kay Buxton Wilson, age 64, of Millen, widow of Alonza “Lonnie” Wilson, Jr., passed away on Thursday evening, December 22, 2022.

Kay was born in Burke County on March 10, 1958, to the late couple, Ben Buxton, Jr. and Mary Reddick Buxton. Kay was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Girard, Ga, and worked for many years at in retail at Walmart and as a seamstress.

In addition to her parents, Ben & Mary Buxton, and husband, Lonnie Wilson, Kay was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Ann Coleman.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Heather & Tony Flint of Millen, GA; son: Alonza Wilson III of Millen, GA; brother, Larry Buxton; grandchildren, Alexis Marin, Austin Wilson and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral home.

Rev. Josh Johnson will officiate the graveside service at Big Horse Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
