Samuel Brown

     Samuel “Sammy” Brown, age 73, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA. Born on April 10, 1951, to the late Robert Brown and Frances Proctor Brown. Samuel was born in Effingham County, he would later call Sylvania, GA his home.

      Sammy was a heavy equipment operator by trade, working for Monroe Pickney Construction Company for many years. He was a member of The Church of God. He was happiest when he was on the water fishing and spending time with his family.

     In addition to his parents, Sammy is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Brown, his brothers, Albert and Johnny Brown, and his daughter, Christy Brown. 

     Those who will cherish his memory include his wife, Dianne Brown, his daughters, Ashley (Fred) Brown and Rebecca Brown, his son, Randall (Samantha) Williams, his sister, Barbara Jackson, his brothers, Robert Brown and Tommy Brown, his grandchildren, Levi Law, Shania (Brandon) Smith, Tommy (Trish) Brant, Talmadge (Kira) Mcmillan, and Christopher Jones, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

     A gathering in celebration of Mr. Brown’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home from 2-4 PM.
