Newington – Paul Joseph Boland, Sr., age 85, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at his residence in Newington. He was born in Washington, DC to the late John Edward & Veronica Branson Boland. He was retired from Bell South and was of Methodist faith. He was an Army Veteran having served in the Korean War and was a major care giver to many people. As well as his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife: Eleanor B. Boland; Son: Paul Joseph Boland, Jr.; Grandson: Dylan Shane Boland; Brothers: John W. “Mick” Boland and James “Jimmy” Boland; Sister: Catherine Boland; Sons-In-Law: Henry H. Durrence, Jr. and Ronald C. Brown.
Survivors: Daughters: Margaret Sharon B. Brown of Big Pine Key, FL and Susan Marie B. Durrence of Statesboro, GA; Son: Frank Edward Boland of Newington; Sister: Mary Delores Boland Wesley of Washington, DC; Sisters-In-Law: Gloria S. Boland and Florence A. Boland; Grandchildren: Amanda C. Durrence and Dustin & Collette N. Durrence; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Friday, May 24, 2019, at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Jenkins officiating. Burial following at Newington City Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Mark Smoak, Gil Stewart, Sonny Lee, John Wall, Kenny Wall, Eddie Wall, Dustin Durrence and Frank Boland; Honorary Pallbearer: Charles Lee.
