Patricia Jeanette Hughes

Patricia Jeanette Hughes, age 83, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia. She was born on February 10, 1941, to the late Anthony Oglesby and Inetta Brinson in Sylvania, Georgia.

After graduating from Screven County High School in 1959, Patricia worked as a seamstress for White Stag Co. for over 35 years. She was a member of McDonald Baptist Church and attended regularly as long as she was able. She enjoyed cooking and listening to the news, you could always count on her to update you on the latest current events.

Patricia is predeceased by her mother and father, as well as her siblings, Marjorie Oglesby, Wyman Oglesby, Ruth O. Powell, Elma O. Bazemore, and Gerri O. Lazik.

Those who will cherish Patricia’s memory include her children, Karen and Tommy Hughes as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Margie Godbee and Judy Smart.
