MAURICE FOREHAND SHARPE

Maurice Forehand Sharpe, age 90, widow of David Weldon Sharpe, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 2, 2023, at Pine View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Maurice was born in Screven County, GA on March 26, 1933, to the late couple Stafford Bernard Forehand and Mattie Maggie Jenkins Forehand. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, ceramics, planting flowers, and loved spending time with her family. Maurice was an active member of Hiltonia Trinity Church, she enjoyed singing for our Lord, and was a choir member for many years.

In addition to her parents and husband, Maurice was preceded in death by her sisters, Sara Alice Ward, Dorothy Forehand, Robyn F. Reddick, Teresa Godbee; brothers, Ray J. Forehand, Lavaughn Forehand, C.L. (Sam) Forehand, Terry Forehand and Redell Forehand; and daughter-in-law, Julia Sharpe.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis & Ray Reynolds; son, Kerry Sharpe; grandchildren and their spouses, Kayde & Yank Moore, Beth Sharpe, Kyle & Randi Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Rian Reynolds, Avery Moore and Gemma Moore; sisters-in-law, Vivian Forehand, Harriett Rowell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Hiltonia Trinity Church. Rev. Dr. Karen Zeigler will officiate the funeral service that will commence at 11:00 A.M., and interment will follow at Bascom Cemetery.
