Mary C. Perryman Rueter went to heaven on September 17, 2021, at home in Augusta, GA, under the loving care of her husband, her children, and immediate family. A native of Millen, GA, Mary was born on June 17, 1945, and resided in Millen and Augusta, GA, Rota, Spain, Ramstein, Germany, Camp Hill, PA, and Pensacola, FL. She was retired from Allied and Cato Corporations where she was employed as a Retail Sales Manager. She was married to her loving husband Bruce for 48 years and together they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to traveling, Mary enjoyed spending her retirement time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Thomas and Louise Parker Perryman, a brother, Herman Perryman, a sister, Connie Perryman Brannen, and her grandparents, Horace W. and Ophelia Dickey Parker, and Major and Susie Rabitsch Perryman.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce W. Rueter, three daughters, Angela Norell Henderson, Sardis, GA, Cynthia Norell (Duane), Metter, GA, and Jennifer Norell Reeves, Augusta, GA, and five siblings, Dorothy P. Lee, Dublin, GA, Betty Jean Burke (Steve), Millen, GA, Nathan Perryman (Vickie), Sylvania, GA, Janelle Helton (Jim), Demorest, GA, and Pamela Perryman, Midway, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Luke Waters, St. Louis, MO, Lauren Waters, Savannah, GA, Jesemy Whitehead, St. Louis, MO, Jacob Habersham, Sardis, GA, and Zachary Bishop, Metter, GA; Great-Grandchildren, Savannah Cowart, Grovetown, GA, Pierce Merier, Millen, GA, and James, Rose, and Thomas Whitehead, Midville, GA.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Luke Waters, Jesemy Whitehead, and Jacob Habersham, and nephews, Ronnie Perryman, Scott Lee, and Kyle Mixon.
The funeral service will be held on September 21, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at West Millen Baptist Church, Millen, with Reverend Andy Allen officiating. Interment will be at the Millen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.
COVID protocols will be in place for the visitation, service and burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be sent to West Millen Baptist Church, P.O. Box 599, Millen, Georgia 30442.
