Newington (Blue Springs) - Mamie Laverne Reynolds Bazemore, age 79, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, at her home under the care of her loving family and Regency Southern Care Hospice.  She was born September 24, 1941, in Marlow, Effingham County, Georgia and was adopted by her parents, Cole and Bessie Lee Reynolds.  She was retired as a paraprofessional with the Screven County School System after 12 years and she had also worked at Weaver's Play and Learn Child Care for a number of years. She greatly loved children and taking care of others.  She enjoyed catering for weddings and other social events as a hobby.  Her membership in Hiltonia Baptist Church for many years provided her an opportunity to be very active in the church and Bible School leadership and the Women's Missionary Union.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Surviving her are:  Her Husband, Rev. Henry Bazemore, Jr. of Newington, to whom she was married for 62 years, Daughters and Sons-in-Law:  Rebecca B. and Bill Hodges, and Summer Leigh and Keith Rice, II, all of Newington, a Brother and Sister-in-Law:  Charles Raymond and Sandy Waters of Jacksonville, Florida, a Sister-in-Law:  Pat Weeks of Aiken, S.C., Grandchildren:  Dr. Lane M. and Dr. Emily Hodges, Landon and Tiffany Hodges, Wyatt R. Rice, and West R. Rice, Several Nieces and Nephews, and many children who considered her as their Mimi/Grandmother.

Graveside services for Mrs. Bazemore will be held Monday, April 19, 2021, at 4:00 P.M. in the Middle Ground Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Travis Smith officiating.  Burial will follow.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Lane M Hodges, Landon H. Hodges, Wyatt R. Rice, West R. Rice, Bill Hodges, and Keith Rice, II.

Honorary pallbearers will be:  Bob Hodges, Gage Small, and Rex Austin.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 18, 2021, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Home Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

The family would like to thank the associates of Regency Southern Care Hospice for their wonderful care the provided Mrs. Bazemore.
