LUCILE ELMORE EDWARDS

Lucile Elmore Edwards, age 89, of Sylvania, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 14, 2023, at her residence.

Lucile was born in Jenkins County, GA, to the late couple, Charles Edward Elmore and Rosa Lee Oglesby Elmore on July 22, 1933. She was a member of the Black Creek United Methodist Church, loved gospel songs and singing, and cherished time spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, Lucile was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Elmore, and her sister, Bessie Lee Saxon.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Roy V. Edwards, Charles R. & Penny Edwards; grandchildren and their spouses, Charles Michael & Lane Edwards, John Phillip Edwards; great-grandchildren, Charles Mason Edwards, Taylor Edwards, Samantha Edwards; step-great-grandchildren, Madison Gordy, and Emily Gordy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Karen Zeigler on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Black Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
