LELA BELL MOCK OLIVER

SYLVANIA, GEORGIA

Lela Bell Mock Oliver, age 88, of Sylvania, widow of Elias Brown Oliver, passed away on Monday morning, January 16, 2023, at her residence with family at her side.

Lela was born on May 28, 1934, in Screven County, to the late couple Harvey Asbury Mock and Ollie Elizabeth Mock. She worked for Allied Dept. Store as a retail clerk for over 20 years, and was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church is Sylvania, GA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lela was preceded in death by her sons, Jerald Oliver and Glen Myers; sisters, Gloria James, Dorothy Morris, Cleo Royal, Louise Johnson; and her brothers, Chris Mock and Walter Mock.

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Oliver; sister, Shelby Jean Miles; grandchildren, Travis Oliver, Misty & Dusty Folker, Heather & Josh Weaver, Jenny & Jerry Bowers; great grandchildren, Damien Suggs, Cameron Suggs, Caleb Suggs, Lakeland Barbee, Garett Bowers, Levi Bowers, Skyla Weaver, Christian Weaver, and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Terry James will officiate the funeral service that will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Screven County Memorial Cemetery in Sylvania, GA.
