Glynn Bassett

Perkins – Glynn Bassett, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Jenkins County Hospital in Millen, GA.  He was born in Jenkins County, GA to the late Vernon Loreen Bassett. He was a retired lineman superintendent, having worked for Planters Electric Co. for 44 years. He was a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was also on the Board of Directors for Planters Electric Co., was a member of Horse Creek Hunting Club and Alexander Hunting Club.

Survivors: Wife of 46 loving years: Gail McClain Bassett of Perkins, GA; Daughters and Son-In-Law: Jennifer & Wayne Rich of Millen and Michelle Bassett (Andy Owens) of Perkins; Son: Glynn Bassett, Jr. of Perkins; Sister: Mary Ann B. Saxon of Perkins; Mother-In-Law: Mrs. Alvin McClain of Alexander; Sisters-In-Law and Brothers-In-Law: Al & Louise McClain, Gerald Ann Clayton, Mark McClain and Johnny & Karen Lovett, all of Alexander; Grandchildren: Darcy Rich and Tyler Rich, both of Millen; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Visitation: Friday, September 10, 2021, at 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Dry Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Graveside Service: Friday, September 10, 2021, at 4:00 PM at Dry Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Fields and Rev. Brad Boynton officiating.  Burial following.

Pallbearers: Ray Boynton, Roger Saxon, Dean Brinson, Jet Wilson, Phil Rhodes and Jimmy Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers: The Board of Directors, Employees and Staff and Retirees of Planters Electric Co.
