Floy Dickey

     Floy Dickey, age 92, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Pineview Nursing Home in Sylvania, Georgia.

      Floy was born on January 30, 1932, to the late Henry and Pauline Anderson. She was married to the late Raleigh David Dickey Sr. for 59 years before his passing. Floy was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, having made blankets for all the residents at the nursing home. She was also described as a wonderful baker, her specialty was pound cakes, but there was nothing that she couldn’t make! Floy was the oldest charter member of Memorial Baptist Church, having served her church family in many capacities, including as a Sunday school teacher. Floy was a great mother, and she loved her family above all else.

     In addition to her parents and her husband, Floy was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters.

     Those who will cherish her memory include her daughters, Marion D. Owens, and Lynn D. (Jud) Zeigler; sons, Randy (Willene) Dickey and David Dickey Jr.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several special nieces and nephews.

      Pallbearers include Duane (Christin) Owens, Dallas Owens, Randy (April) Dickey Jr., Ryan (Amanda) Dickey, Jeremy (Jessica) Rosier, and Christopher (Stephanie) Dickey.

     Honorary pallbearers include the members of Memorial Baptist Church

      The family will receive friends on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM for visitation at Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home in Sylvania.

     A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home, Officiated by Rev. Bill Kent.

     Burial will follow at Screven Memorial Cemetery.
