Sylvania, GA – Evelyn Louise Scott, age 82, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021, peacefully at home. She was born on August 6 in Effingham County to the late Lewis Hinton Scott and Florrie Berry Scott. She worked as a paraprofessional at Screven County Middle School for 10 years, was a member of Sylvania First Baptist Church, and a member of the Virginia Sunday School Class at Sylvania First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and going fishing. She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her sisters, Dorothy Burns, Mary Jane Lanier, Reba Bales, Maude Lee Boston and her brother, Lewis Hinton Scott, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bernard Scott, along with her daughters and son-in-law, Pam Burnett, Cathy (Mike) Swayne and son and daughter-in-law, Alan (Tina) Scott. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam Forehand, Scott Burnett, Allan Scott and Kelsey Johnson, and was blessed with four beautiful great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services: Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Screven County Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Charlie Cooper officiating. Burial following. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Boykin Stuart, Arnold Kimbrell, Frederick Sheffield, Harold Royal, John Boston, Jr. and Thomas Pitts.
Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
