Eugene Talmadge Humphrey

     Mr. Eugene Talmadge Humphrey, 90, of Waynesboro, GA passed away on November 17, 2024, at Brentwood Health and Rehabilitation. The Jenkins County native was born on September 24, 1934, to the late John Samuel and Madie Mons Humphrey. He graduated from Jenkins County High School and attended Georgia Southern College. He spent his working career as an Independent Life Insurance agent. He played many instruments, but he excelled at the guitar. As an avid musician, he loved playing in local bands. 

     Eugene was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Glenda Jenkins Humphrey; his brothers, James, Johnnie, and Will “Doagie” Humphrey; and his sister, Eloise Coursey. 

     He is survived by his sister, Erline (Carl) Ward of Savannah, GA; his nieces and nephew, Charlotte (Jeff) DePalmo, and Debra (Doug) McClintock, both of the Charlotte, NC area; Vanessa Pank of Acworth, GA; Carl (Suzanne) Ward of Savannah, GA; and many great nieces and nephews.

     The Graveside service will be held at Faith Temple Church Cemetery on November 22, 2024, at 11 A.M.
