EDELL M. BASSETT

Sylvania – Edell Murray Johnson Bassett, age 87, of Sylvania, passed away on Friday Morning, August 5, 2022, at Optim Medical Center - Screven.

Edell was the daughter of William Lawrence Murray and Maxie Austin Murray of Newington, GA, born April 13, 1935. She was a member of the Wades Baptist Church. Edell was a loving mother and homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by in death by her husband, W. R. “Skeet” Johnson; son, William Ray Johnson; sisters, Elma Oliver, Myrtle Rooker and Mary Lee; and brother, Herman Murray.

Survivors include her son, Richard Steve Johnson; daughter, Loretta Johnson, both of Sylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home, Monday, August 8, 2022.

The Funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. August 8, 2022, in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Carolyn Schneider officiating.

Interment will follow the service in the Wades Baptist Church Cemetery.
