DENNIS Y. SCOTT

Dennis Y. Scott, 79, passed away on July 6, 2023, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA.

He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering. He was a civil engineer with the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. Dennis served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He was also a lifelong farmer and cattleman raising Registered Black Angus Cows. He loved his family, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father and mother, Stanley Y. Scott & Annie Lou Pierce Scott, and his sister, Judy Scott Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lynda Teed Scott; daughter, Amy L. Scott, and Karen Scott Riner (Stan); grandson, Scott Williamson; granddaughter, Kaden Williamson; aunt, Shirley Scott; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Buck Creek Church. The funeral service, to be officiated by Rev. Carroll Gay, will commence at 11:00 A.M., interment will follow in the Buck Creek Church Cemetery.
