Carmeletta "Cookie" Thornton Anderson

Sylvania, GA - Carmeletta “Cookie” Thornton Anderson slipped peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, at 9:52 am Saturday morning, August 10, 2019 surrounded by her family, at the home of her daughter and son in law in Cooperville, GA after a long illness. She was 73 years old.  She was proceeded in death by her mother, Leona Watson, her father, Stuart Thornton, her Stepfather, JV Moore and her daughter, Kendra Leona Anderson.

Cookie was the wife of Paul Anderson, the love of her life, for 56 years.  They have 3 daughters, Kiesha DeLoach (Emory) of Sylvania, Petra Vanlandingham (Scot) of Milledgeville, and Kendra Leona Anderson (in heaven).  She has 9 grandchildren, Ashley Thompson (Clay) of Sylvania, Amber Mock (Nick) of Sylvania, Alyson Smith (Andrew) of Milledgeville, Carson Crosby (Abbie) of Sylvania, Allison Lee (Jamie) of Sylvania, John DeLoach of Sylvania, Gage Vanlandingham of Milledgeville, Sydni Vanlandingham of Milledgeville and Kale Vanlandingham of Milledgeville.  Cookie has 3 brothers, Stuart “Butch” Thornton (Camille), Randy Moore (Penny), and JV Moore III (Connie).   Cookie was blessed with 10 great grandchildren, Payton Thompson, Avery Thompson, Nathan Mock, Savannah Portlock, Tanna Mock, Kynzee Churchwell, Ryleighann Portlock, Ava Jade Smith, Raylan Thompson and Dawson Mock. Cookie also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Double Heads Baptist Church.

Celebration of Life: Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Double Heads Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Joyner officiating.

Burial: Monday, August 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Double Heads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dan Joyner.
