Alfred “Doe Doe” Otis Sanders, age 74, of Girard, Georgia, husband of Elaine Hamilton Sanders, passed away on Tuesday morning, May 3, 2022, at Augusta University Medical Center.

He was born in Augusta, GA, to the late couple, William Pinkney Sanders, Jr. and Marie Griner Sanders on December 30, 1947. Doe Doe was a proud member of the Bethel Brick United Methodist Church and served for many years as the Chairman of the Board. He was a kind and caring man, who enjoyed his work as a farmer, and loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Jones and his brother, W.P. “Bill” Sanders, III.

Survivors include his wife, who he shared 50 loving years with, Elaine Hamilton Sanders; daughter, Carolyn Marie Sanders; son and daughter-in-law, Oliver & Erin Sanders; sisters and brother-in-law, Kay & Ralph Dixon and Rose Marie McKiney; his grandchildren, Hamilton Laboranti, Olivia Sanders, “Finn” Laboranti, Savannah Sanders and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Bethel Brick United Methodist Church (1259 Oglethorpe Trail in Sylvania, GA) on Monday afternoon, May 9, 2022, at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. Ralph Dixon and Rev. John Powell officiating. Following the service, a visitation will be held in the Bethel Brick UMC social hall.
